About Discipleship at Eternal
At Eternal, we believe our purpose as individuals and as a church is to glorify God and fully enjoy Him forever. We do this by following the two greatest commandments according to Jesus: loving God and loving people (Matthew 22:37-40). As a church, our mission is accomplished by focusing on the four pillars we see laid out in the first two chapters of the book of Acts: Worship, Evangelism, Community, and Discipleship.
Discipleship is the process of moving all believers into an increasingly rich relationship with God. This involves encouraging people to view all Holy Scripture as “God-breathed and…useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17), and teaching people to yield to the lordship of Jesus Christ and the leading of the Holy Spirit in all aspects of their lives.
At Eternal, we strive to be grace oriented, living in God’s freedom and forgiveness, which produce integrity, transparency, and vulnerability before God, our families and the church body.
The specific ministries under the Discipleship pillar include:
- Adult Small Groups
- Adult Large Groups
- College/Young Adults Ministries
- Children’s Ministries
- Counseling Ministry
